In June 2026, an Iranian court sentenced singer Parastoo Ahmadi and eight of her collaborators to 74 lashes and a two-year ban on making music — for a concert she sang without a hijab, her voice carrying alone across an empty caravanserai. A court called her voice a crime.
They sentenced one woman for singing. We answer with a stage full of them.
